My son and I camped here over the weekend. It was a really good experience. We had a great site right on the river it was beautiful and the rapids put us sleep every night. The cabin was not open but was still very cool to view. Trails are nice and the museum though small is very nice inside. Good fishing in the river and was able to watch a crane for a couple of hours one evening. We will be back soon and often as this is one of the best tent friendly parks we have stayed in.

I love David Crockett State Park! Fishing, swimming, hiking, great playground for the kids. I would like to see campground #2 updated.

Nestled along the Nolichucky River, Davey Crockett State Park is perfect for a serene outing. There is a great camp ground with RV hook-ups/electric. A family pool & rec area and numerous picnic sites shaded by beautiful old trees. There is good fishing as well. Although the cabin is not the original it IS authentic & true to the era. There is a group known as the Friends of Crockett which holds regular events (in period costume). You can swim in the river as well. The area by the park is calm with some small shoals, but no rapids. Perfect for a lazy day of tubing! If you are looking for a more quiet and serene location to picnic or camp...Davey Crockett is the place to go!

This was the worst camping trip ever! No camp fires allowed, unless you remember to pack your own fire pit. ( who does that? ) So no smores or wieners. And sites 40-46 smell like crap because of the dump station. We were across from 2 dumpsters ( which smelled great compared to crap we had to smell our whole stay) and a pet waste station. They should at least put on the website that you have to pack a fire pit and nose plugs to tolerate your stay. The river is so grown up that you cant even see it or get a breeze from it unless you have tent sites. You must be a professional rock climber to hike the trail. The office does not open until 2pm so make sure you have plenty of ice for the following day.The pool didn't open on time due to not enough life guards on staff. The gift shop is a joke. And Hooers everywhere!
