Stayed at Room #3 for 2 nights while we visited Crater Lake N.P. The room was nice and clean with a microwave and small fridge. There's a fire stove to keep us warm at night, and TV in the room if you want to watch movies (which you can borrow from the owners) but as they stated on their website "No TV or WIFI".
The owners may be a bit moody at times but they were okay to us, even left a light on in the room for us the first night as they know we would be back late that evening. Excellent selections of organic food & products!
The folks at Jo's are really friendly and our tiny 1 bed suite was extremely comfortable. It's a lived in place - the bed had a handmade quilt, bathroom has 10 assorted towels in different stages of wear n' tear, tiny CRT TV (they offer movies for borrowing), and a mini fridge/micro setup. They also provided freshly ground coffee and tea bags for tea.
The only negative experience was their staff not telling us about how to operate their heating system (no room manual or service after 7pm), so things got very chilly at night. Luckily we had sleeping bags with us.
The following day, we had breakfast at the deli - tasty and very healthy. I'd highly recommend staying here.
Though I've heard really good reviews about the lodging, I don't live far enough away for that to make sense, so I can't say I've stayed here. But whenever I'm in the area I make a point of stopping by for a really good sandwich made-to-order with fresh, organic ingredients, a bottle of good libation, and, sometimes, some groceries to-go. The owners, Robin and Jim, are down-to-earth and very friendly. Jo's Motel makes for a great excuse to get out and stretch my legs, and I'm always glad I stopped.
If I'm ever in the need of lodging near Crater Lake, this is surely where I'll go.
My husband & I recently stayed here in June 2014. We rented a back unit which is larger and had a kitchen and loft bed upstairs. We were very comfortable. The owners keep everything very clean and neat. If you like a little county this is a great place. We met friends there who stayed in the front units which are smaller so they would come over to our place for drinks at night, or we would make a fire in the pit they have and sit outside. Do be aware of bringing mosquito repellent as there were many! :(
They have the market there which sells only Organic things so you pay a little more but they have about everything you would need. It isn't a 7-11 so make sure you know the hours of operation. :) We enjoyed our 2 day stay.
Jo's is my favorite place to eat out compared to anywhere down in the Klamath area. The kitchen is clean, I really enjoy chatting with the owners, and the camping area and little rooms seem nice. I love that they have such healthy food options including grass fed beef cheeseburgers on a sprouted bun and organic Kombucha to drink. Outdoor picnic tables and access to the beautiful Wood River make this a great place to stop for lunch.
